The National Cancer Institute IRCCS Fondazione Pascale will host the special lecture “Gender Oncology”, part of the Multidisciplinary Workshops & Special Lectures 2026 series.

The event will feature Rossana Berardi, President-Elect of the Italian Medical Oncology Association (AIOM), and will be hosted by Alfredo Budillon.

The meeting will take place at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori G. Pascale – Aula R. Cerra.

The international course “From Imaging Biomarkers to Clinical Translation: Inclusion and Equity in Molecular Imaging and AI” will take place on 25 September 2026 at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.

The event will bring together leading national and international experts to discuss some of the most innovative and pressing topics in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. The programme will cover a wide range of subjects, including imaging biomarkers, theranostics, regulatory aspects of radiopharmaceuticals, quantitative imaging, and the latest applications of artificial intelligence.

The course aims to foster multidisciplinary discussion on the role of molecular imaging and artificial intelligence in translational research and clinical practice, with particular emphasis on the development and validation of novel imaging biomarkers, quantitative imaging approaches, and theranostic applications. Special attention will be given to the themes of inclusion, equity, and responsible innovation, which are essential to ensuring the effective and sustainable integration of emerging technologies into precision medicine.

The whorkshop “Inclusion and Equity in MSC Translational Medicine: A Next-Generation Interactive Workshop” will take place on 27–28 October 2026 at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi–Sant'Ambrogio, Milan.

The event, organized under the umbrella of the GISM Next-Generation section of the Italian Mesenchymal Stem Cell Society (GISM), will promote an equity-by-design approach in MSC translational medicine, bringing together researchers, clinicians, social scientists, patient representatives and stakeholders to discuss how translational research can become more inclusive, representative and equitable. Through keynote lectures, roundtables and collaborative discussions, participants will address biological and sex-related biases in MSC research, representativeness in translational and clinical studies, equitable access to ATMPs, AI and data equity, precision medicine, and ethical, social and regulatory aspects of translational medicine. Particular emphasis will be placed on the involvement of young researchers and on fostering multidisciplinary collaborations with national and European organizations, including EATRIS-related experts and infrastructures, APRE, and organizations working on diversity, inclusion and gender equity.

Two Young Researcher Awards will be awarded to selected authors of submitted abstracts. Abstract Submission Deadline: 4 October 2026

The workshop “Young Investigators Day on Liquid Biopsy and Translational Biomarkers: Inclusive Approaches in Precision Oncology” will take place on 6 October 2026 at the Centro Formazione Bastianelli, IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori Regina Elena in Rome. The event is organized in partnership with the Società Italiana di Biopsia Liquida (SIBIL) and several institutions affiliated with A_IATRIS.

Designed as a highly interactive Young Investigators Day, the workshop is primarily aimed at PhD students, medical residents, postdoctoral fellows and early-career clinician scientists. The programme will explore the latest advances in liquid biopsy and translational biomarkers, covering topics such as circulating tumor DNA, circulating tumor cells, extracellular vesicles, multi-omics approaches and artificial intelligence applications in precision oncology. The event will combine keynote lectures, presentations by young investigators and networking opportunities to foster scientific exchange and collaboration.

The workshop will conclude with the presentation of Young Investigator Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions from early-career researchers.
